Hi, I’m Pedro, and this is my personal blog. This is a free blog with no underlying unifying theme or periodicity at all. All posts are intended to reflect only my own opinion and does not necessarily reflect the views of my employers and collaborators. I write about a variety of themes, in most of which I am a layman, and, therefore no post is intended to be read as an authoritative or expert’s opinion.
For full disclosure, currently, I am the Head of Artificial Intelligence and Operations at Snow Fox AI, assuming both research and managerial functions. In educational terms, I am proudly an alumnus of Universidade de Brasília, Brazil’s Electrical Engineering Department and Dalhousie University, Canada’s Faculty of Computer Science.I am equally proud to have been supervised by Dr. Peixoto at Universidade de Brasília and Dr. Zincir-Heywood at Dalhousie University. As an undergraduate student, I was a founding member of its IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Chapter at Universidade de Brasília, serving as the first Chairperson from 2018 to 2020. During my term, our efforts were recognized as we were awarded the IEEE CIS Outstanding Chapter of the Year for promoting computational intelligence among students, industry, and academia, being the first initiative in Latin America to be awarded with such honor, the greatest in IEEE for Artificial Intelligence groups. As expected from an Electrical Engineer, my area of expertise is limited to Artificial Intelligence, Numerical Optimization, Communication Networks, Signal Processing and Economics, in that order
Personally, my interests are much broader and include sports, mainly football, cinema, music, politics, economics and religion, so one can expect all these topics to be recurring here.
